Being lucky enough to have my own small home studio my day to day making has been largely unaffected.
Please note though, we have reluctantly chosen to limit our visits to the local post office in an effort to reduce our contact with others.
I now visit the post office just once per week, Friday mornings. We are constantly reviewing this, and will increase our postal days when appropriate.
We routinely use Royal Mail's 2nd class delivery service.
Should you need a faster service (perhaps 1st class) please do get in touch and we'll do our upmost to accomodate you, though do please be aware that we will still be restricting our Post Office journeys to weekly.
We absolutely do, and haven't looked back since making the switch from regular plastic bubble wrap and tape!
All of our pieces are carefully packaged with paper bubblewrap, bio-degradable corn void-fill, and paper tape. Once you receive your parcel the packaging can either be re-used or recycled, or why not add the corn void-fill to your compost pile if you don't have a use for it!
Nothing! Nada! Zip!
Parcels to be delivered to a UK address will incur no postage cost (they will be sent standard 2nd class with Royal Mail, unless arangements have been made for a faster delivery, where a small upgrade charge may need to be made).
Any package to be sent internationally will be charged the same postage cost that I have to pay at the counter (less the present UK fee - which I think makes it as fair as possible).
To press less than 1% of my work has arrived damaged! I take every effort when packaging my work for their journey to their forever home. But if your piece does arrive damaged do please contact me with an image of the damage and I shall offer you a refund or a replacement.
You can contact me via email YorkshireCeramics@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram @YorkshireCeramics.
All of our pieces are wrapped as standard with tissue paper and paper raffia ribbon.
We are now able to offer you a deluxe optional upgrade for most items, for that special gift!
I'm very consious of the soaring costs and delays when items are shipped internationally at the moment, largely due to issues surrounding Covid-19.
However, if you're interested in a piece and would like a price for it to be shipped internationally do contact me (either by email to YorkshireCeramics@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram @YorkshireCeramics).
Do please also bear in mind that any import duties and taxes levied will be your responsibility to pay.
Absolutely. I have lots of returning customers who have kindly shared their feedback which you're welcome to read here.
We do! You can sign up in our 'Newsletter page' here, if you're interested.
Rest assured, I much prefer to spend time with Walter (my wheel) and clay in my hands than on the laptop, so as much as I love to chat with people, I certainly won't spam you with mail! And of course, you can unsubscribe anytime that you like, I won't be offended.
So many of us are very concerned about our environment, and rightly so, myself included. Please rest assured that all of my work is conscientiously made. Not only do I wait until I have a kiln-full of work before firing (that is unless I'm testing a very specific firing schedule - which could potentially be wasteful of materials if fired full), my kiln is described as 'eco' with incredible insulation meaning that less electricity is used than older models.
In addition to these measures, clay can be recycled and worked with multiple times prior to it being fired, making it a very green craft.
And let's not forget that pottery can last a lifetime ... just don't drop it!
We do hope that you will get years of pleasure from your chosen piece of handmade studio pottery. To help keep it at its very best, we suggest giving it a little extra TLC by hand washing it in warm soapy water (rather than using the dishwasher).
Occasionally we may produce pieces finished with gold detailing, do please avoid placing these in the microwave or dishwasher.
